In addition to the Dublin base, mother’s opened a London space in 2017, which has established itself on the ground floor in the busy gallery district of Bethnal Green. The combined programme includes seven+ exhibitions annually, through which a growing number of represented artists have been introduced to significant international attention. A further presence is constructed through art fairs where curated presentations are approached with correspondent rigour to gallery exhibitions, structured on a mixture of solo exhibitions and curated conversations. The gallery privileges text and dialogue as important negotiators of artistic ideas and is conscious of our website as a research facility and a complete historical archive.

Nicelle Beauchene Gallery is located at 7 Franklin Place in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York. The gallery first opened on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in 2008 to promote the work of emerging local and international artists. In December 2012, the gallery relocated to a historic two-story building on Broome Street shared with Jack Hanley, where the two galleries switched exhibition spaces every other show. In 2016, Max and Julia Voloshyn established Voloshyn Gallery in the heart of Kyiv, Ukraine. Situated in a historic 1913 building, Voloshyn Gallery's space provides an unconventional setting for contemporary art. It exhibits a broad range of works in a variety of media, representing both emerging and established artists. The Voloshyn Gallery hosts solo and group exhibitions, works with accomplished curators and museums, and takes part in leading contemporary art fairs. In 2022, Voloshyn Gallery made the difficult decision to close temporarily due to the full-scale invasion on Ukraine. White Columns was founded in 1970 by a group of artists including Jeffrey Lew and Gordon Matta-Clark as an experimental platform for art. Originally located in SoHo (and known as the 112 Workshop/112 Greene Street), the organization was renamed White Columns when it moved to Spring Street in 1980. In 1991 White Columns moved to Christopher Street in the West Village, and in 1998 the gallery relocated to the borders of the West Village and Meat Packing District. In April 2018, White Columns re-opened in a new location at 91 Horatio Street adjacent to the new Whitney Museum of American Art and The High-Line.

White Columns presents an ongoing program of exhibitions, projects, talks, screenings, and events. Additionally it has a record label ‘The Sound of White Columns’ that releases vinyl-only recordings by artist-performers. White Columns is a not-for-profit gallery which is open to the public, free-of-charge, eleven months per year.

White Columns provides support to artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial attention.

JOSH LILLEY is on his mobile phone, a half-eaten Uncle Paulie's Deli sandwich on his plate and a Rocky's Matcha on the table beside it. He’s within earshot, but not the direct line of sight of BENJAMIN TRIGANO who is dining alone, and DEVENDRA BANHART, who is seated with his girlfriend GIA and the musician BECK. The sun is bright enough to necessitate sunglasses for guests and umbrellas over the tables.

(speaking loudly on his mobile phone through airpods with staccato and decisive British English elocution, presumably to someone in London)

Can you hear me? I didn’t expect it to be such a party this year after watching the news from January, but man can this city turn out! I saw Devendra Banhart and his gorgeous girlfriend in the ballroom, Miranda July spent about ten minutes in our booth, and rumor has it Anderson .Paak and Kim Gordon are in the mix, too. All the cool kids are here. What does my son say? “WE ARE SO BACK!”

(who was attentively eavesdropping on JOSH’s conversation, leans over to the table of handsome strangers seated next to him to initiate conversation in his mild French lilt)

I heard Devendra Banhart is here. I’m a huge fan.

(chuckling, but with good nature)

Gia told me he’s cruising the fair with Beck! It would be great to meet them.

I hope they come by the M+B cabana. That’s my gallery. We’re always mentioned as a top booth in magazines like Cultured. You can see the crowd pouring out of the room from here!

If it’s that good, I’m sure they’ll pop by. We’ve made a little plan so we can see everything: we’re going to head to the top floors to check out the Tower galleries first, then do a lap around the poolside cabanas and definitely scope your stuff.

AL MORÁN is holding court at a large booth table with ARTY NELSON, MEGAN MULROONEY, BRIGITTE MULHOLLAND, and a few of their closest friends and collectors at the Hollywood Roosevelt's newest restaurant. The group is a few cocktails in, the room is loud and buzzing, guests are hopping from table to table. Everyone knows everyone, or at least someone who knows everyone, and everyone is happy to accidentally swap drinks and loudly share stories about the day, about home life, about where they were last month over the bumping music. It’s a familiar, festive night.

Megan

(shouting over the noise of the room to AL)

This is EXACTLY what I needed! The art! The people! The crowd! The noise!

Al

(leaning over ARTY so MEGAN can hear)

What did Josh Lilley say to me today? WE ARE SO BACK!

(laughing)

We pan out to an aerial view of the fair as the group continues to banter, the poolside is throbbing with people, laughing, dancing, drinking. The night is a bit chilly, but no one seems to mind, there are heat lamps, and it feels good to be together again. The camera zooms back in to focus on YOUNG BOY, still in costume, still racing around the pool.

Young Boy

(excitedly, to himself as he shoves his way through the crowd)

The city has come alive with feral beasts, dancing to mayhem, to destruction, to the demons of the night. Only one man can save us… (he collides with the leg of MIHAI again, who is indiscreetly puffing on what appears to be a vape pen)

(in his best BATMAN voice)
